Project Manager, Land Use and Zoning

Your new role and team We are looking for a project manager/planner for our land use and zoning group. Your role will involve varied tasks in land use planning. We mainly work on sustainable energy solutions and related land use projects. We also prepare zoning and land use plans for municipalities and cities of different sizes. You will be part of our Impact Assessment unit in the Environment and Health business area. You will be supported by a team of about 70 experts focused on project environmental impacts, sustainable urban planning, biodiversity, and landscape and cultural heritage values. The final role description can be adjusted based on the successful candidate’s experience and interests. Your responsibilities will include: Project management tasks in master plan and detailed plan projects (leading project teams, monitoring project finances, and collaborating and communicating with the client, authorities and other stakeholders). Planning tasks: preparing zoning and EIA documents independently and together with the planning team. Environmental impact assessment in EIA projects, covering impacts on land use and potentially also landscape and cultural heritage. The primary work location is Lahti. Other locations are negotiable (Espoo, Oulu, Kuopio, Tampere). About you For this open position, we expect you to have: Experience in land use and zoning. We particularly value experience in land use planning for industrial projects or activities that cause environmental impacts, and in impact assessment. A university-level or upper-secondary qualification focused on geography or urban planning. Readiness to work as a project manager in multidisciplinary land use projects. An active approach to delivering projects and collaborating with stakeholders. Experience using various GIS and planning software (such as ArcGIS and AutoCAD).
