Land Use and Zoning Project Manager

Your new role and team We are looking for a project manager/planner for our land use and zoning group. Your work will involve varied assignments in land use planning. We work mainly on sustainable energy solutions and related land use projects. We also prepare zoning and land use plans for municipalities and cities of different sizes. You will be part of our Impact Assessment unit in the Environment and Health business area. You will be supported by a team of around 70 experts focusing on the environmental impacts of projects, sustainable community planning, biodiversity, and landscape and cultural heritage values. The final job description can be adjusted according to the candidate’s experience and interests. Your responsibilities will include: Project management for master and local detailed plan projects (leading project teams, monitoring project finances, and cooperating and communicating with the client, authorities and other stakeholders). Planning tasks: preparing zoning and environmental impact assessment documents independently and together with the planning group. Environmental impact assessment in EIA projects: impacts on land use and potentially also on landscape and cultural heritage. The primary work location is Lahti. Other locations can be negotiated (Espoo, Oulu, Kuopio, Tampere). About you For this open position, we expect you to have: Experience in land use and zoning. We especially value experience in land use planning for industrial projects or activities that cause environmental impacts, and in impact assessment. A university-level / upper-secondary qualification focused on geography or community planning. Readiness to work as a project manager on multidisciplinary land use projects. An active approach to delivering projects and working with stakeholders. Experience using different GIS and planning software, such as ArcGIS and AutoCAD.
