About the role

**Come and help build something completely new. Do you want to be part of establishing a brand-new unit and leave your mark on its daily operations, practices, and culture? Now is a unique opportunity.** We are seeking a registered nurse for a permanent, full-time position at Vihdin Validia-talo, which opens late this year. In this role, you will not enter a pre-existing environment, but will instead help create the operations of a new unit right from its startup phase. As a nurse, you will play a key role in building nursing practices, supporting staff expertise, and ensuring a high-quality and safe daily routine from the start. Vihdin Validia-talo is an 18-place high-service unit for clients with intellectual disabilities and those on the autism spectrum. The unit consists of five group homes and is designed to meet the individual needs of clients requiring intensive support. The focus of operations is the client's quality of life, a safe daily routine, and a high-quality, rehabilitative approach. **What does the role involve?** As a nurse, you are responsible for the holistic nursing care and health promotion of the clients. Your work includes assessing, monitoring, and documenting clients' health status, as well as planning, developing, and ensuring the safe implementation of medication management. You will act as a nursing expert in the unit's daily operations, support staff expertise, and participate in building the new unit's operating methods together with the rest of the team. You will work closely with the unit manager and participate in organizing daily activities. In the absence of the unit manager, you will be responsible for organizing daily operations and ensuring smooth functioning together with other staff. The work is strongly integrated into the clients' daily lives, and you will actively participate in daily nursing care alongside other staff. This is not solely a coordinating expert role; the position combines the professional responsibility of a nurse with practical work with clients. The work is primarily based on morning shifts. **What do we hope for from you?** We value knowledge of the intellectual disability sector and experience working with clients on the autism spectrum. You have good interaction skills, an independent work style, and a desire to develop operations together with the rest of the work community. The startup of a new unit offers an opportunity to influence the development of operating methods from the beginning, so we hope for flexibility, responsibility, and enthusiasm for taking on new challenges. Our values—Respect, Expertise, Fluidity, and Responsibility—are visible in our daily work. Everyone has the right to a dignified life, and both clients and employees are heard. We learn from each other, lead by listening, and keep our promises. **We offer you** - The opportunity to participate in the startup of a completely new unit - A planned orientation based on your expertise - Support from a competent and encouraging work community and expert network - Training and development opportunities - Salary according to the collective agreement for the private social services sector G25, plus a unit-specific supplement - Employment benefits, such as Epassi and leisure-time accident insurance - Work-ability oriented occupational healthcare that is more extensive than the statutory requirement **We require from you** - A degree as a registered nurse or public health nurse - Registration as a licensed healthcare professional in JulkiTerhikki - Vaccination protection according to Section 48 of the Communicable Diseases Act and a tuberculosis certificate according to Section 55 - Presentation of a criminal record extract in accordance with the law on the supervision of social and health care - Fluent Finnish language skills - Sote-card **Apply to help build something new** We hope you can start in the position in **early October**, allowing you to participate in the preparation and startup of the new unit before it opens in early November. Application period is until August 23. Interviews will be held on August 27–28. Further information about the position can be obtained from recruitment specialist Mira Haukka by phone 044 478 4368 or email rekry@validia.fi. **Recruitment process** In this recruitment, we utilize a Hubert.ai AI interview. After submitting your application, you will be invited to a chat-based interview with our virtual recruitment assistant, Hubert. The AI-based interview serves only as a support tool; all final evaluations and decisions are made by a human. Applicants who proceed to the final stage of recruitment will be asked for contact details of references via the Refapp application.
