What You’ll Do As an Embedded Software Engineer at Framery, you will develop software and data capture algorithms for Framery smart pods and sensor devices, making offices more efficient and nicer to use everywhere. You’ll join an experienced seven-person embedded team shaping innovative digital services, ensuring our products are intelligent, connected, and future-ready. We are looking for someone self-driven and comfortable making independent technical decisions, whether that means prioritizing urgent bug fixes or proposing new technical solutions. Rather than following ready-made specs, you’ll take ownership of your work and validate solutions together with the team. With new projects constantly kicking off, you’ll have the opportunity to be involved right from the start and make a direct impact on the future of our smart office solutions. “You have a crucial part in developing an early-stage product that is already—and will continue to be—used by the most interesting clientele in the world!” — Veikko Lindberg, Software Engineering Director What We Expect from You: Zephyr RTOS: Strong, hands-on development experience with Zephyr is essential in this role. Embedded Linux: Practical experience or familiarity with embedded Linux development across the device lifecycle. Core Development: Solid C and Python programming skills. Connectivity & IoT: Good understanding of networking features, cellular modems, Wi-Fi, CAN bus, and protocols such as MQTT/AMQP. Self-Directed Mindset: You thrive when given ownership and the independence to build impactful technical solutions. Languages: Fluent written and spoken English. Finnish is considered a bonus, but not mandatory. Pluses / Nice-to-haves: Experience with Yocto SDK build processes. Experience with Over-The-Air (OTA) firmware update systems, OpenVPN, CANopen, or PKI device integration.
