About the role

We are seeking an experienced System Safety or Functional Safety expert to strengthen our Technical Safety organization. Safety and reliability are core values for us and our customers, and compliance with essential safety requirements is a statutory obligation governed by EU directives and regulations, to be documented throughout the product lifecycle. Our Technical Safety team aims to manage mechanical, electrical, fire and environmental risks as well as cyber security threats. In this role you will work on projects for our customers’ mobile machinery and/or the defense equipment industry, depending on your background and experience. Your duties include requirements specification, reliability and safety analyses (RA, FTA, FMECA), safety activities derived from risk assessments in the form of Safety Requirements Specification (SRS), and verification of the required Performance Level (PL) using SISTEMA calculations. You should have a customer-oriented, solution-focused approach and work collaboratively with stakeholders and our team. You hold a degree in engineering (DI or engineer) in electrical, automation, mechanical or safety engineering and have at least five years of relevant experience. You are able to interpret standards and their requirements, analyze the reliability and safety compliance of complex systems, and understand traceability of requirements. Collaboration is valued, but the ability to make independent decisions is also important. Finnish is the primary working language, but in our international customer environment you should also be fluent in English for documentation and customer interaction. For defense-related projects there may be a security clearance and drug testing. We primarily seek candidates for our Tampere office, but working from other sites or units with security colleagues may be possible. Regular travel to customer sites, especially in Pirkanmaa and Kanta-Häme, is expected. Our ideal candidate also has strong documentation and communication skills in Finnish and English. Nice to have: experience applying AI in safety solutions, experience with authorities (ISA/AsBo/NoBo), EN 50126/50128/50129 knowledge for railway tech. This position offers monthly salary in the range 4100–5400 EUR depending on experience. For more information contact Tomi Martikainen, Manager, Technical safety & HSE.
