As a practical nurse in our relief staffing service, you will be part of a developing work community and work in varied environments. The resource services unit operating within Etelä-Pohjanmaa Wellbeing Services County ensures staff availability in different units across our service areas during absences of varying lengths. We are hiring two practical nurses for permanent employment in the resource services unit, primarily to cover sudden absences in home care for older people in the Alavus social and health centre area. The work can begin on 16 November 2026 or by agreement. As a relief worker, you may work across a broad area, for example in Alavus, Ähtäri, Soini and Kuortane. Where possible, you may also work outside home care, for example in older people’s housing services and respite care units, units for people with intellectual disabilities, a child protection unit and hospital wards. We value a broad ability and willingness to rotate between units. Your rotation area will be determined according to your skills and interests as well as the needs of the wellbeing services county. We will orient you to the role. We expect you to have an enthusiastic attitude to work, good cooperation and interaction skills, strong commitment, and the ability to act flexibly in changing situations. We value experience as a practical nurse and interest in working, where possible, in the home-care night patrol. The work is mainly in two shifts, although night shifts are also possible. In our selection, we will emphasise the applicant’s suitability for the role. The selected candidate must have a driving licence and use their own car. The eligibility requirement is a vocational qualification in social and health care as a practical nurse, with eligibility under Act 559/1994 or 817/2015. Registration in Valvira’s Central Register of Health and Social Care Professionals as a protected occupational title holder is required. LOVe medication permits must be completed or completed within one month of the start of employment. A hygiene passport is required. The terms of employment and pay are determined in accordance with the SOTE agreement; the pay level at the start of employment is €2,910 per month. A probationary period applies. An acceptable health certificate and a criminal record extract under section 28 of Act 741/2023 must be presented before accepting the position. The selected candidate may be required to provide a drug test result. HYVAEP is a nicotine-free workplace.
