Position: Senior Research Fellow with a background in literary studies and/or philosophy of literature. The successful candidate will investigate representations of suffering and meliorism in literary and philosophical contexts, develop analyses of ethical responses to suffering, and author scholarly publications. The role includes collaboration within the Centre of Excellence MePhiS and teaching/administrative duties (5–10%). Qualifications include a doctoral degree in humanities or social sciences, international publications, and the ability to lead a research group. The MePhiS working language is English. The salary follows the University Salary System (level 6) with a six-month trial period. The starting salary is approximately EUR 4,700–4,900 per month.
