Childcare Worker in Early Childhood Education

We are seeking a childcare worker for a fixed-term position at the City of Kajaani’s Vuolijoki Daycare Centre from 16 November 2026 to 30 April 2027. As a childcare worker in early childhood education, you will work with a group of children in a daycare centre as part of an educator team and carry out activities in accordance with the early childhood education and pre-primary education plans, enabling individual support for children in everyday early childhood education. You will contribute to sensitive care and education and promote children’s growth, development and learning in a way suited to their age and developmental stage. You will help provide individual support for children and participate in multidisciplinary cooperation. You will plan and carry out activities together with early childhood education teachers, social services professionals, special education teachers and other early childhood education staff. In your work, you will promote the best interests of the child and strengthen children’s equality, equal treatment, safety and overall wellbeing. Duties may include administering medication to individual children, which requires a valid medication permit. The position is fixed-term from 16 November 2026 to 30 April 2027. Salary is determined under the Municipal General Collective Agreement (KVTES). The starting salary for a childcare worker in early childhood education is €2,548.78/month plus possible supplements. The eligibility requirement is the childcare worker qualification under section 28 of the Early Childhood Education Act 540/2018. Certificates proving eligibility will be checked at a possible interview. Experience working with children who need support and experience administering medication in early childhood education are considered an advantage. If there are no qualified applicants, other applicants will also be considered.
