General practitioner

We are strengthening primary health care at the Pirkanmaan hyvinvointialue and are seeking a permanent health centre doctor to reinforce our skilled team. The role is primarily based in Tammelakeskus in Tampere, located near the city center with good transport connections and close to a variety of services. Depending on your interests, you may also work in maternal and child health or school health services. You will experience continuity of care in practice and you will have a nursing colleague. There is an option to work in a digital clinic as part of your duties. In line with Pirha’s on-call duties, the job includes also on-call shifts during weekday evenings (Mon–Thu 16:00–20:00), about 1–2 times per month. There may also be weekend and holiday shifts at the digital clinic and at Hatanpää urgent care. On-call compensation is paid according to the physician contract with on-call multipliers, or alternatively the time can be accrued as comp time. For permanent posts, a specialist degree in General Practice is considered an advantage. We require good Finnish language skills (spoken and written). Prior experience as a GP, a development‑minded attitude and motivation to commit to long‑term GP work are valued. Further information: Start date will be discussed. The job is full-time, but part-time arrangements can be agreed. There is a six‑month probation period. You must submit required health certificates within one month of starting, and a health examination will be performed by Pirta occupational health.
