About the role

The GEF Small Grants Programme (GEF SGP) has supported local action for over thirty years to address global environmental concerns. SGP aims to deliver global environmental benefits in the GEF focal areas of biodiversity conservation, climate change mitigation, protection of international waters, prevention of land degradation, and elimination of persistent organic pollutants through community-based approaches. Duties and Responsibilities: Support to Programme implementation: - Contribute to day-to-day programme/project implementation. - Assist the National Coordinator (NC) in prescreening project concepts and proposals and evaluate the financial part. - Advise potential grantees on project preparation processes. - Provide day-to-day support and guidance to new and ongoing projects. - Support organization and preparation of minutes of NSC meetings. - Maintain contacts with NGOs, governmental institutions, and donors. - Regularly update and maintain SGP project and stakeholders’ database. Support Programme Financial Management: - Review and control accuracy of supporting documentation of projects’ financial reports. - Process payment requests from grantees and vendors via Quantum. - Maintain financial integrity of the programme and monitor accounting systems. - Prepare grant disbursement tables and track the Country Operating Budget. - Management of the Petty Cash account. Provision of Administrative Support: - Procure office supplies, equipment, and furniture. - Establish a proper filing system for administrative, financial, and management files. - Draft routine correspondence and communications. - Maintain an updated inventory of all physical assets. - Provide logistical support to visiting missions and travel arrangements. Support Knowledge Management and Communication: - Support efforts on knowledge management and visibility of SGP. - Facilitate organization of advocacy events, workshops, and round tables. - Assist in drafting articles and publications. - Maintain SGP information for the website and Global database. Monitoring, Evaluation, and Reporting: - Generate Performance Evaluation Reports. - Support implementation of the project monitoring system. Required Skills and Experience: - Education: Secondary education is required. A bachelor’s degree in Business, Public Administration, Environmental and Social Science is an advantage. - Experience: Minimum five (5) years (with Secondary education), or two (2) years (with Bachelors’ degree) of progressively responsible administrative or programme experience.

Requirements
