Tampere University and Tampere University of Applied Sciences create a unique environment for multidisciplinary, inspirational and high-impact research and education. The university community highlights technology, health and society. We are looking for a Doctoral Researcher in molecular toxicology, systems biology, and women’s reproductive health. The position is full-time and will be filled for a fixed-term period of 4 years. The workplace is located at Kauppi Campus, Tampere University. The MET faculty pursues world-class research and high-quality education in biomedical engineering, biotechnology, medicine and health technology. The MAT group develops animal-testing-free approaches to chemical safety, focusing on endocrine disruption and women’s health. Tasks include systematic evidence mapping, establishing human endometrial cell models, performing LC-MS/MS proteomics, in vitro assays and omics interpretation; presenting results at conferences and contributing to publications. The candidate will be trained in relevant methods and may undertake short visits to partner laboratories in Finland and abroad. Languages: fluency in English required. A Master’s degree in molecular biology, cell biology, biochemistry, biotechnology, biomedical sciences, toxicology, computational biology, systems biology, bioinformatics or related fields is required. The position includes supervision and mentoring and the opportunity to develop independence as part of a supportive, multidisciplinary environment. Applicants must be pursuing or be accepted to study towards a doctoral degree in the Doctoral Programme in Medicine, Biosciences and Biomedical Engineering. The starting date is preferred as soon as possible, but no later than November 2026. Salary is according to the Finnish University Salary System (level 2–4), with a typical starting salary around 2770–2900 EUR per month and increases with experience and doctoral progress.
