Steel Structural Designer

Steel Structural Designer, Ramboll (several locations) We are looking for a steel structural designer for Ramboll who already has design experience and an interest in a fabrication-shop environment. The work combines structural design, calculations and understanding practical production requirements. Role description As a steel structural designer, you will work on different steel structures and fabrication drawings. You will see different stages of the design process and understand how plans work in practice in production. Workdays vary depending on the projects. At times you will focus on designing and calculating a specific scope; at other times, you will have smaller, faster-moving design tasks. Job duties Designing and dimensioning steel structures Preparing fabrication drawings Preparing structural calculations Working with information models and design software Adapting design solutions to fabrication production methods Developing designs together with the project team and production Who we are looking for We are looking for a steel structural designer with existing experience in steel structure design and an interest in a fabrication-shop environment. It is important to understand both the technical requirements of structures and how plans can be implemented in practice. We expect you to have: Suitable education in the construction sector (MSc or BEng) Experience in steel structure design Good structural engineering skills Familiarity with information modelling and steel structure calculation software Experience preparing fabrication drawings An understanding of fabrication production requirements A customer-oriented and collaborative approach to work Fluent Finnish is essential for the role, and good English is needed. Swedish language skills are an advantage. If a client project requires it, a security clearance may be conducted during employment. An approved security clearance is a condition for the employment to continue.
