Service Lead

You are responsible for ensuring that the customer gets what we promised—and that the team delivers it smoothly. Are you an expert at chief design engineer level who wants to move from building individual structures to developing services? We are looking for a Service Lead in Tampere to lead a design service delivered to a customer. The role combines the technical depth of a chief design engineer with a project manager’s approach. You have no direct reports, but you are responsible for the service as a whole. You lead the design team’s day-to-day work and are accountable for quality, schedules and customer satisfaction. What you do day to day - Lead a multidisciplinary design team and take responsibility for service delivery. - Schedule work packages, monitor progress and report to the customer and within Etteplan. - Identify and remove bottlenecks in the design process, continuously develop the process and help the customer find the best solutions. - Act as the customer’s primary contact for the service’s content and progress. - Carry out design work yourself using CAD software, staying involved in the technical work. You are a good candidate if - You have an MSc in Technology or a University of Applied Sciences degree, with extensive chief-design-engineer-level expertise and experience in mechanical design. - You are proficient in CAD software, such as NX, Catia, Creo or SolidWorks, and do design work yourself. - You have experience leading projects, scheduling and reporting, preferably in a multidisciplinary team. - You lead through influence and get people committed without holding a managerial position. - You are proactive and interested in developing operations together with customers to achieve better results. - You communicate in both Finnish and English. Experience with service models, delivery projects, product development or developing design processes is an advantage.
