Layout Engineer

GE Vernova Grid Solutions is seeking 2 Senior or Lead-level Layout Engineers in the FACTS/STATCOM electromechanical team in Tampere, Finland. The Layout Engineers will work on the mechanical layout and 3D design of STATCOM systems. Their main tasks include equipment arrangement, 3D modelling, assembly and installation drawings, interface and clearance coordination, and providing inputs for foundations and site installation. They will work closely with electrical, civil, system, supplier, and site teams throughout the project. Must-have skills include strong hands-on experience with Revit and SolidWorks; experience in substation, FACTS, STATCOM, HVDC, or similar power infrastructure projects; 3D modelling, equipment arrangement, assembly and installation drawings; understanding interfaces, clearances, foundation inputs, and constructability requirements; and experience supporting engineering design reviews, project execution, suppliers, and site activities. Good-to-have skills include BIM coordination and model integration; experience with STATCOM valves, valve structures, cooling systems, piping, and site installation activities; and multi-disciplinary coordination with electrical, civil, and system engineering teams. Education: B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering or similar discipline. Start: August. Location: Tampere on-site. Duration: 6 months to start, likely extended. Language: Fluent English.
