School and child health physicians are medical professionals specializing in child and adolescent growth and development. You will be part of the regional community of roughly 40 full-time doctors across the health centers’ pediatrics, school health services, student health services, and children’s and adolescent mental health and substance abuse services. The focus of the role is on public health nursing (maternity, family planning and child health clinics) and school health services, with the possibility to also combine patient-facing duties at a social and health care station if desired. You will generally work in Pirkkala and Tampere and, when needed, at other Pirkanmaa wellbeing services centers. The goal is to support growth and development of children and adolescents, ensure wellbeing of pregnant women, promote family wellbeing, and prevent social exclusion. In addition to health check work, assessment of special support needs and arranging necessary follow-up actions, you will consult with other professionals and contribute to developing your own work. Qualification requires a legally licensed physician in Finland, and good spoken and written Finnish language skills. Advantageous qualifications include specialized training in obstetrics and gynecology, family planning or adolescent medicine. We value strong communication skills, ability to work with diverse families and multidisciplinary collaboration, and a proactive mindset. Start date is 1 March 2027 or by agreement. Probation is six months. The position is full-time with a 38 h 15 min work week; part-time by agreement. Before starting, selected candidate must present a criminal record extract and health certificates, and complete a health check.
