Assistant Professor

The Faculty of Medicine and Health Technology at Tampere University invites applications for a tenure‑track position in cancer diseases. The post is full‑time and located in Tampere, Finland, with responsibilities in both teaching and research. The appointment is offered at two tenure‑track levels: Assistant Professor and Associate Professor. Assistant Professor positions are fixed‑term for five years, with progression to a permanent tenure track position upon successful performance in the initial term. The post includes a side appointment under the Social and Health Care Act to align with the wellbeing district, subject to suitability with the district representative. The appointment requires doctoral qualification, medical licensure in oncology, and the ability to conduct independent scientific work, along with teaching competencies. Fluency in Finnish and English is expected, and good collaboration and communication skills are valued. The university offers a five‑year initial period for Assistant Professor or Associate Professor, with potential to secure a permanent position on tenure track, and provides support from the faculty and university.
