Commissioning Manager

Commissioning Manager owns the delivery of the full Cx programme, Level 0 through Level 5, across mechanical, electrical and controls systems. You are accountable for the commissioning schedule, the quality of the documentation, the readiness of each system before it is witnessed, and the safe, sequenced transition of the facility from construction into operation. You act as the client's technical authority in every Cx conversation on site. Key responsibilities include: Programme and planning; Own, maintain and drive the commissioning programme; Develop and issue the Commissioning Plan; Chair weekly commissioning coordination meetings; Track and report progress; Level 0 to 2 design documentation review; oversee Factory Acceptance Testing; Level 3 to 4 pre-functional and functional testing; Level 5 lead Integrated Systems Testing; Safety, quality and handover; Interface with site Energy Marshal; Assemble and validate the full Cx documentation pack; Deliver client operations team training. Essential requirements include demonstrable experience managing commissioning through Level 5 on completed data centre projects; strong technical grasp of electrical and mechanical systems; ownership of commissioning programme; fluent German (C1) and Working English; full right to work in Germany; on-site commitment; Freelance registration in Germany. Desirable items include hyperscale end-client delivery experience and Cx accreditation. Contract details: Freelance, 18 months with potential extension; site-based west of Cologne; start 1 October; expiry 2 November 2026.
