Structural Engineer – Data Center Projects

We are looking for an experienced structural engineer for data center projects. Your work will contribute to building society’s critical digital infrastructure. You will be responsible for advancing structural design for data center projects and producing design solutions. Structural reliability, loads, buildability and a tight design schedule place exceptionally high demands on the solutions. You will work in a multidisciplinary project team and keep the project manager and stakeholders informed about progress. This role is for you if you want to develop your structural engineering expertise in technically demanding projects and collaborate with the project team and WSP’s international expert network. What you will do in this role - Prepare structural calculations and plans as part of the project team, using various software. Depending on the project, the work may form part of overall structural design, localisation of plans or a contractor’s design package. - Compare design solutions, prepare alternatives and choose between them. - Collaborate with the project team and, when needed, other parties to the project. - Estimate the duration of your tasks and keep the project manager and stakeholders informed about progress. The position can be based in Helsinki, Tampere or Oulu. We offer flexibility, so you can combine office and remote work according to the needs of the role and projects. What we hope you bring - An engineering or Master of Science degree in structural engineering. - More than four years of experience in structural design. - An understanding of structural behaviour and technical expertise. - Tekla skills and proficiency in various calculation and design software. - A desire to develop as a structural engineer. - Good spoken and written Finnish and English. - Strong collaboration and communication skills, and the ability to work independently. We also value - Experience in data center projects or other technically demanding construction, energy, industrial or infrastructure projects. - Knowledge of different structural materials. - Revit skills. - Experience using computational methods and automation in structural design.
