Job description

We are now looking for a practical nurse to work as an instructor at the child welfare unit Arjen Sydän in Siuntio! At Humana, working with children is at its best when it means genuine encounters, making everyday life easier, offering comfort and bringing joy to others. Every one of our employees helps improve wellbeing and enrich lives. We believe that every family’s and child’s challenges can be addressed with timely, appropriate support, care and upbringing. Our work is characterised by responsibility, humanity and respect for individuality. What can you expect from the job? The position is full-time and permanent. The employment contract involves irregular three-shift work, but the role will mainly focus on nights. We will agree on the start date together. As an instructor, you support and encourage children and young people through everyday challenges and take part in assessing their care and upbringing. You will also act as a child’s designated instructor. The work is based on listening to the client, respectful treatment and supporting participation. We work closely with guardians, the child’s wider network, schools and social services. Our approach is relationship-based and grounded in attachment-focused work. Arjen Sydän’s homelike premises are in Siuntio, surrounded by beautiful nature yet fairly close to services. Arjen Sydän is a seven-place special-level unit. We offer children in care a safe, homelike environment in which to live. No two days are alike! We offer an interesting role that supports your professional growth. You will have an on-site supervisor and a multidisciplinary team supporting you. You can work in your own way and make varied use of your skills and interests. You do not need to know everything from the start; we will induct you into the work. You can read more about working at Humana and our wellbeing builders here. Why take this opportunity? At Humana, we consider it very important to support our employees’ development and career opportunities. In addition to our comprehensive internal training opportunities, we can negotiate paid study leave and the employer’s contribution to training costs. Strengthening our expertise benefits us all! As a Humana employee, you are entitled to comprehensive occupational healthcare. Humana’s Epassi sports, culture and wellbeing benefit is €400 per year, subject to the working-time condition. You can use it to buy theatre tickets or a gym membership, or even visit a dental hygienist! At Humana, you have an employer that takes responsibility for people and values. We strongly believe in our ability to improve wellbeing for people and society. We are proud of our values: commitment, responsibility, and encountering people with joy. Pay The basic salary for the position is €2,526.70–€2,860.61 per month, depending on your previous work experience. Shift-work supplements are paid in addition to the salary in accordance with the private social services sector collective agreement. What kind of colleague are we looking for? We expect you to have a practical nurse qualification. We value previous experience working with children and young people, particularly experience in child welfare, psychiatric care for children and young people, and the care and upbringing of children. The most important qualities for success in the role are a genuinely client-centred approach, the courage to meet each client as an individual on their own terms, good interaction skills and flexibility in changing situations. Please note that the person selected must present the criminal record extract required for working with children under section 6(2) of the Criminal Records Act (770/1993). The selected person must have obtained a social and healthcare professional card by the start of employment. We would now like to hear from you! Take this opportunity and send your application by 15 November 2026. We process applications during the application period and may make our selection before it ends. For more information about the role, contact Unit Director Hannele Lehtonen, tel. 0504759685, hannele.lehtonen@humana.fi. Please note that, for data security reasons, we do not accept applications by email. Submit your application directly through our application link. Humana is a leading Nordic social services provider offering individual social services close to people and their everyday family life. We have 2,300 employees in Finland. We help and support 5,000 people in different life situations. In line with our vision, we believe that everyone has the right to a good life, and we put this vision into practice by improving wellbeing for people and society.
