We are looking for a tourist information officer to support Lohja’s growing tourism. The position is fixed-term until December 17, 2027. Come to develop and promote Lohja’s tourism services together with the tourism manager, the tourism team, local entrepreneurs and other units within the organization. The role sits mainly at Tytyri Elämyskaivos, one of Lohja’s most important tourist attractions. You will be central in running Tytyri’s daily operations and ensuring the site runs smoothly, delivering a high-quality and memorable visitor experience. The work is practical and varied, with days possibly involving customer service, sales and performances, but also maintenance of Tytyri’s facilities and technology, managing bookings and ticket sales, duties in the souvenir shop and other tasks necessary for the site’s daily operations. You will also help develop Tytyri Elämyskaivoksen services and customer experience. You will work at the heart of a tourist destination, ensuring the visitor’s experience runs smoothly from first contact to site operations. Communication is a key part of the role; you work directly with customers and may perform as a mascot or at fairs and events. Primary tasks include multi-channel customer service and sales in Finnish, English and Swedish, guiding and planning customer service and sales (B2B and B2C), ensuring smooth day-to-day operations and customer journeys at Tytyri, participating in event and fair productions, creating content for various channels including website and social media, maintaining booking and ticketing systems and the event calendar, and in back-office tasks such as maintenance of exhibitions, AV equipment, housekeeping, gift shop duties, cash handling and accounting, invoicing, analytics and tourism statistics. The role requires initiative and a hands-on approach; Tytyri is a place where no two days are the same and situations may require quick adaptation. We value someone who enjoys people but is also willing to take on practical tasks when needed. In addition to daily operations, each officer will have an own development area such as social media, group sales, events or other tourism-related areas. You will participate in developing Lohja’s tourism services and Tytyri’s offerings. The job includes indoor and outdoor tasks and some evening and weekend work due to events. Success requires strong customer service and interaction skills, initiative and the ability to handle multiple tasks. We especially value experience in tourism, customer service or a tourism site, and social media skills. Fluency in Finnish and English is required; Swedish is a plus in Lohja’s bilingual environment but not a requirement. The recruitment is anonymous to promote equality and nondiscrimination. The hiring manager will select interviewees without seeing personal data. Please fill out the application form and describe your skills and experience comprehensively. If selected for interviews, anonymity ends and the recruiter may review more details. Lohja emphasizes staff well-being and development; we are education-friendly and support employee training. We offer comprehensive staff benefits including subsidized fitness services, culture and lunch benefits, and a yearly Epassi benefit up to 200 euros, with the balance determined by the length of employment. We also operate a self-built WELLNESS ACADEMY to promote workplace well-being and value work-life balance with regular hours and flexible scheduling. A suitable professional qualification is required. The base salary is 2793.34 €/month with potential experience allowance up to 8% if conditions are met. A probationary period is half of the employment period. The employer may require a health certificate from Keski-Uudenmaan Työterveys Oy at Lohja within one month of starting. Interviews will be held in weeks 36-37. For more information contact Tourism Manager Mira Kuusela at 040 686 7083, mira.kuusela@lohja.fi. Lohja promotes equality and diversity and welcomes applicants from different backgrounds. Lohja is a voluntary bilingual city.
