What is the job that awaits you? As a Data Architect, you will play a key role in shaping the future of our data landscape. You will be responsible for designing and governing scalable, secure and reusable data architectures that enable AI, analytics, reporting and other data-driven solutions across Metsä Group. In this role, you will translate business needs, information architecture and target architecture into practical technical solutions. You will design architectures for data ingestion, storage, integration, processing, modelling and consumption, while ensuring that data solutions align with enterprise architecture, governance, security requirements and best practices. You will work closely with Information and Solution Architects, Solution Owners, Data Engineers, business stakeholders and development partners. As a trusted expert, you will provide technical guidance to development teams, review solution designs and drive the continuous evolution of Metsä Group’s data platform and architecture capabilities. You will also contribute to architecture decision-making, evaluate emerging technologies and help ensure that our data solutions remain scalable, maintainable, secure and future-ready. This is a permanent position and you will report to Development Manager, Data. What are we expecting of you? We are looking for an experienced data architecture professional with a strong background in designing modern data platforms and data solutions. You have experience in data architecture, data modelling, integrations and cloud-based data environments, and you enjoy turning complex business requirements into effective technical solutions. To succeed in this role, you should have Strong hands on experience in data architecture, data modelling, integration technologies and cloud data platforms Experience with Azure, Databricks and modern data engineering practices Understanding of how AI-ready data platforms, data products and data architectures are built and how they unlock value creation Experience working together with business stakeholders Understanding of SAP data and related concepts Knowledge of information architecture, metadata management, data governance, security and data lifecycle management The ability to guide multiple development teams and external partners in a matrix organization In addition, you have excellent analytical, communication and stakeholder management skills. You can balance business needs with technical quality, scalability, security and cost efficiency, while promoting common architecture principles and reuse across the organization.
