We are seeking a Project Coordinator for Turku and Raisio's joint literacy strategy initiative, covering the period 1 October 2026 to 31 December 2027. The coordinator will act as a shared development resource for Turku and Raisio, coordinating time allocation between the two cities. The role focuses on developing early childhood education practices to support language development in children under 3, and coordinating and developing literacy work across basic education, library collaboration, and the Turku and Raisio municipalities. You will oversee project planning, implementation, monitoring, budgeting and reporting coordination. The duties include developing, piloting, implementing and embedding operating models, and coordinating cooperation between the two cities. You will work closely with early childhood education, teaching, library services and other partners. Additional tasks include communications, material preparation, documentation and dissemination of project results. A suitable university degree is required. Success in the role depends on experience or strong skills in development and project work, network building and coordination, and an independent and goal-oriented work style. We value good interaction, collaboration and communication skills and the ability to manage large entities. Desirable: knowledge of early childhood education environments, experience in pedagogical development or project work and expertise in child language development, literacy education, language and early support. Experience of inter-municipal collaboration and familiarity with educational services is also valued.
