About the role

Metsä Group is a successful forest industry group with roots in the Finnish forest... We are looking for a HR ADMINISTRATION SPECIALIST to join our HR team in Gdansk for a fixed-term assignment for 15 months. As an HR Administration Specialist, you will play a key role in ensuring smooth, accurate, and compliant HR operations throughout the employee lifecycle. You will be responsible for a wide range of HR administration activities, from preparing employee documentation and maintaining personnel records to supporting onboarding and providing day-to-day HR guidance for employees and managers. In this role, you will monitor working time, absences, annual leave, and employee entitlements, as well as support payroll-related processes and employee benefits administration. You will also coordinate occupational health and safety related activities, prepare HR reports and analyses, and ensure the accuracy of employee data in our HR systems. You will work closely with HR and payroll colleagues, managers, employees, and external authorities. As part of our HR team, you will have the opportunity to deepen your expertise in HR administration, labor law, and HR operations while working in an international environment supported by modern HR systems such as Workday and SAP. To succeed in this role, you have previous experience in HR administration and employee lifecycle processes, preferably 2-5 years, and a solid understanding of labor law and social security regulations. You are comfortable working with HR systems and Microsoft Office tools, particularly Excel. You have a detail-oriented and proactive way of working, combined with strong organizational and time management skills. You are able to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain a high level of accuracy even when managing multiple responsibilities. We also value excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, a customer-focused mindset, and the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and business stakeholders. You are fluent in business English and can work confidently both independently and as part of a team. A bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Administration, Law, Business, Economics, or a related field is considered suitable for the role. Experience with Workday or other HCM systems, as well as additional qualifications in labor law, HR administration, or payroll administration, will be seen as an advantage.
