Asiantuntija is part of the diocesan work community and the expert team whose task is to act as a partner to parishes in supporting and developing their work. The job includes various coaching tasks, networking, coaching and development processes, organizing networks meetings and various forums, as well as support for leadership and work communities in different ways. Central areas of coaching and development in the current task include supporting church communications, strengthening participation of children and youth, family center collaboration, questions related to confirmation and leadership support. Also tasks related to sustainable future, the global mission of the church and societal and church conditions are part of the scope. The position is shaped by changes in the operating environment. Experts work flexibly across archdiocesan areas, so travel is required. The office is in Tampere, but partial remote work is possible. The role requires strong familiarity with diocesan and parish work, plus the ability to coach and develop, support processes, work independently, and have excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills in partnerships, including international contacts. The role builds the church’s future and requires understanding of change and development directions and the church’s role in society. Familiarity with church governance is advantageous. The expert role involves project management and continual reassessment and shaping of the role. A willingness to learn is important for flourishing in this role. Applicants must have good professional qualifications and sufficient experience in church work. The appointee must have excellent Finnish oral and written skills and satisfactory Swedish comprehension. For international contacts, good written and spoken English is an asset. The appointee must be a confirmed member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Finland. A satisfactory health statement must be presented before assuming the post. A six-month trial period applies.
