Tamperelainen, a local city newspaper in Tampere, is seeking a journalist for a permanent position. We expect you to have prior experience and a track record in journalistic reporting. You should recognize news topics in the city, on social media or online. You are fluent and speedy, but capable of a broader style of writing beyond basic news. You understand the value of enriching online articles with analytics and have a knack for using modern newsroom tools. Skills in producing journalism in video and audio formats are a plus. Knowledge of Tampere area and local news topics is valued. The role includes desk shifts requiring quick and autonomous decision-making, where modern newsroom tools are used to follow and deliver abundant news flow. AI skills and the ability to take on new topics and areas are relevant to the role. We offer a close, warm team environment and support for professional development within a growing media group, including extensive training and career opportunities and high-quality tools. The work is primarily in the Tamperelainen newsroom in Koskitalo. Working hours are mainly daytime, with occasional evening and weekend shifts.
