Site Engineer

Terramare Oy builds the Nordic marine environment responsibly and with respect for nature. Terramare is a specialist team in heavy marine construction, focused on quality and keeping to schedules, using collaboration and ambition as its tools. We are now looking for a Site Engineer to strengthen our expertise in demanding marine and harbour construction projects. As a Site Engineer, you play an important role in ensuring that projects progress according to plan and to a high standard without compromising safety or cost efficiency. You will mainly work on projects in Finnish coastal cities (initially at Helsinki’s West Harbour), but sites may also take you to Sweden, Norway or the Baltic countries. The role is strongly site-based and requires readiness to travel. Typically, you will have around 150–200 travel days a year. At Terramare, you will work on projects that are not found at every construction company. What we offer: - Demanding and technically interesting marine and harbour construction projects - The opportunity to work with specialist equipment and methods - Support from experienced water-construction professionals - Responsibility and opportunities to develop your expertise - The chance to join international projects in the Nordic countries and, if you wish, elsewhere in the world - A stable and respected employer - A straightforward, practical working community Your tasks: - Managing site documentation covering quality, safety, the environment, finances, meetings, measurements and subcontractor monitoring - Supporting the Project Manager, Site Manager and site supervisors in operational project management - Preparing and monitoring site procurements - Working and coordinating with subcontractors - Planning site schedules together with the Site Manager - Ensuring quality and guiding and monitoring work according to plans - Working with the client, designers and other project stakeholders - Ensuring site safety and implementing safety measures - Preparing work-stage and status reports What we expect from you: - Construction-sector training (Bachelor of Engineering, UAS, or construction manager qualification) - Previous experience in a Site Engineer role - Experience with demanding infrastructure projects, such as concrete work, piling, excavation and earthworks - Good organisational skills and an understanding of cost control - Fluent Finnish and English; Swedish is an advantage - Good IT skills and the ability to learn and use modern project-management and documentation systems - Flexibility, resilience under pressure and the ability to work in changing conditions - Willingness to learn and develop in your work - An active approach with a strong focus on safety and quality - The ability to lead people and bring them together around shared goals - Good communication skills with different stakeholders Our recruitment process: Academic Work manages this recruitment on behalf of its client, who asks that all questions about the role be directed to Academic Work.
