About the role

The role focuses on designing mechanical solutions for charging devices for both passenger and heavy-duty vehicle fleets. You will work as part of our client’s design team on product development projects related to vehicle charging systems. The charging devices include sheet metal and plastic structures, electrical components, cable management solutions and various cooling systems. The position offers involvement in product development from detailed mechanical design to manufacturability and assembly-ready solutions. You will work at the premises of our client or Comatec in Vantaa, Lahti or Tampere, with remote options where possible. Responsibilities include 3D modeling in SolidWorks (sheet metal structures, electrical cabinets, assemblies and power electronics components), design of power rails, thermal management and cooling solutions, creating manufacturing drawings and assembly documentation, considering materials and manufacturing methods, ensuring IP/IK ratings and EMC requirements in designs, collaborating with production, assembly, customers, suppliers and other stakeholders, and maintaining design data in Teamcenter. Requirements include a suitable technical degree (e.g., mechanical engineering) and at least three years of practical experience in mechanical design, experience with serially manufactured products or product development, strong SolidWorks and Teamcenter skills, basic electrical engineering knowledge and understanding of electrical components, ability to grasp technical systems and take responsibility for your design area, systematic and proactive work style, good collaboration and communication skills, and fluency in Finnish and English. Desirable: experience with assembly tasks, understanding of manufacturing technologies and materials (sheet metal, metals, plastics and related processes), interest in product development and prototyping, and electrical engineering studies or electrical background. The salary for this position is between €3500–€4500 per month, final amount based on candidate's skills and experience.
