Helsingin seurakuntayhtymä is Finland’s largest church administration, comprising 16 Finnish-speaking and 3 Swedish-speaking parishes with shared services. About 300,000 people belong to the church. The common services provide administrative and support services for the parishes, manage funeral services and support joint church activities. The estate comprises 42 churches and more than 200 other buildings with a total construction value of nearly 600 million euros. The Property Department handles the organization’s real estate holdings, and consists of property development, facility services and maintenance units as well as funeral services. We are seeking an experienced construction professional for the role of Construction Project Manager to lead the real estate development unit and be responsible for the system-level restoration, real estate development and new build projects in line with the church’s property strategy. You will act as a frontline supervisor for a team of six and manage a budget of just under 20 million euros. Your duties include real estate asset management and development, investment financing planning and accountability for project finances. As construction project manager you will act as deputy to the department head. The position starts on 1 November 2026 or by agreement. We expect from you: a suitable master’s-level degree and proven strategic and results-oriented development and project leadership in real estate or construction. At least 10 years of successful experience in demanding investment projects, including culturally/historically valuable protected properties. Strong leadership and people-management abilities and practical change-management skills. Robust cost and design management within construction and the ability to lead projects with broad financial responsibility. Excellent negotiation, collaboration and communication skills; broad stakeholder understanding in construction is an advantage. Outstanding project management skills and ability to advance multiple parallel and large projects. Good knowledge of construction law; prior experience with public procurement and decision-making is an asset. Proficiency in Finnish is required; Swedish at least satisfactory in speaking and writing is preferred; other languages are a plus. We offer: a position classified in the Church’s general collective agreement for demanding roles with a total salary depending on experience (5,118–5,808 €/month).
