Substation Electrician

Job description We are seeking for a traveling electrician for our client to work on 110/400 kV substation construction, renovation and maintenance projects across Finland. The job is a mobile project-based position. The employment contract is with Henkilöstöliiga. We are looking for candidates with varying levels of experience: you may be at the start of your electrical career or an experienced 110/400 kV substation electrician. Your duties and responsibilities will be determined by your education, practical experience and technical skills. ASSISTANT You have suitable electrical training, but limited or no experience with electrical stations or high voltage. You will work under the guidance of more experienced installers and participate in cabling, installation and maintenance work. SKILLED You have practical experience with electrical stations or high voltage work. You are able to perform primary and/or secondary side installations, cabling and terminations independently according to your skills and task. COMPETENT You have strong and verifiable hands-on experience with 110 kV and/or 400 kV substations. You master demanding installation, maintenance and fault-finding tasks and can act as a senior technical support member of the team when needed. Your skill level is defined by your previous substation or high voltage experience. You may apply to assistant roles even without 110/400 kV substation experience if you have relevant training. For a competent installer, we require verifiable practical experience at 110 kV and/or 400 kV substations. Typical duties include: - Construction and renovation of 110/400 kV substations - Installation and maintenance of substation equipment - Installation and maintenance of disconnectors, isolators and measuring transformers - Installation of busbars and other high-voltage components - Primary and secondary side installations - Cabling, marking and wiring work - Using electrical drawings and wiring diagrams - Measurements, testing, fault-finding and commissioning as per experience - Inspection of work phases and documentation What we expect from applicants: - Relevant electrical training - Good control of electrical safety and responsible work attitude - Ability to read electrical drawings according to your level - B driving license readiness for traveling and varying project sites in Finland - Practical skills corresponding to the level of the tasks - Proficient Finnish language skills Current SFS 6002 training and the Occupational Safety Card are mandatory for the role. Additional certificates and qualifications such as a track work card, first aid training and road safety training are considered an advantage. Training, cards and qualifications required for work and projects are checked before moving to the site. Indicative pay scales: Assistant: 15–17 €/h Skilled: 18–20 €/h Competent: 20–23 €/h+ In addition, traveling reimbursements are paid according to the applicable collective agreement.
