About the role

As part of strengthening Scania Japanʼs Technical Support & Quality function, this role is established to ensure structured, consistent, and high-quality handling of dealer claims. The role operates at the intersection of technical expertise, quality assurance, and cost control, acting as a formal gate within the FRAS process. It supports the overall mission of Technical Support & Quality by ensuring that claim decisions are fact-based, aligned with Scania standards, and contribute to continuous improvement of both product quality, claim lead times and dealer capability. This role works closely with Technical Support engineers, Warranty manager, Quality manager, and other cross-functional stakeholders, serving as a key contributor to transparency, process discipline, and quality assurance across the network. Key Responsibilities: Technical Evaluation & Decision Making - Review and assess FRAS tickets submitted by dealers using a structured and fact-based approach - Validate root cause, failure mode, and repair justification - Determine correct classification: Warranty, EPS, Goodwill, EDW - Ensure alignment with Scania global policies and local agreements Gatekeeping & Quality Assurance - Act as the formal decision gate prior to claim approval or rejection - Ensure completeness and quality of submitted documentation (e.g., photos, diagnostics, repair descriptions) - Secure consistency in evaluation standards across all dealers - Identify and address patterns of incorrect or weak claim submissions Process Ownership & Compliance - Safeguard adherence to the defined claim handling process - Ensure consistent application of rules and standards in all claim cases - Support continuous improvement of FRAS-related processes and workflows Dealer Support & Capability Development - Provide clear and constructive feedback to dealers on claim quality and technical reasoning - Support dealer understanding of warranty policies and claim requirements - Contribute to raising technical and process maturity within the dealer network Data Analysis & Continuous Improvement - Monitor trends in claims, rejection rates, and recurring technical issues - Identify risks related to cost leakage and inconsistent classifications - Provide insights and recommendations for technical improvements, process optimization, and training. Experience & Background: - Experience in diagnostics, troubleshooting, and failure analysis - Experience within Technical Support, workshop operations, or warranty handling - Familiarity with FRAS or equivalent systems is an advantage - Experience working with dealer networks preferred - Experience in the auto industry - General computer and Microsoft office skills - Native Japanese + Business English (TOEIC 700 over) - Worked for one company at least for 4-5 years Work Environment: - Location: Tokyo, JP - Working System: Flextime system; office work; about two days a week working from home (not allowed during the probation period) - Holidays: 125 days per year - Benefits: Social insurance, Commuting Allowance, Defined contribution pension plan, Paid leave from joining date, Paid medical leave (5 days/year).

  • Business English proficiency (TOEIC 700+)
  • Stable employment history (at least 4-5 years with one company)
