The role We are looking for a Lead Data Scientist who is skilled at applying financial analysis, statistics and machine learning to meaningful business challenges. Your work may include predicting payment behaviour, grouping customers based on their needs and behaviour, estimating future recoveries and supporting the evaluation of debt portfolios. You will work closely with colleagues from business, operations, finance, technology, risk and compliance. and turning complex analysis into recommendations that people can understand and use. The role will report to Head of Data, AI, & Automation Location for this position is Stockholm (Sickla) Hybrid work. Responsibilities of role - Develop models that predict customer behaviour and financial outcomes. - Create customer and case segments that support more relevant treatment strategies. - Analyse payment patterns, recovery trends and portfolio performance. - Build forecasts that support planning and investment decisions. - Identify opportunities to improve recovery, customer experience and operational efficiency. - Translate business questions into clear analytical approaches. - Test different modelling methods and recommend practical solutions. - Work with data and technology teams to put models into use. - Monitor model performance and improve models over time. - Explain findings, assumptions and limitations to technical and non-technical audiences. - Document your work and contribute to responsible use of data and AI. Your Background You have a university degree, or equivalent experience, in a quantitative field such as finance, economics, statistics, mathematics, data science, engineering or computer science. We believe you also have: - Experience working as a data scientist, quantitative analyst, financial analyst or in a similar role. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. - Experience developing statistical or machine-learning models. - Good working knowledge of Python and SQL, or similar tools. - Experience analysing financial, customer or behavioural data. - The ability to connect analytical results to business decisions. - Good communication and collaboration skills. - An understanding of how models should be tested, documented and monitored. - Experience from credit, banking, payments, insurance, debt collection or portfolio analysis is valuable, but it is not essential. - Experience with cloud-based data platforms, Databricks, Azure or model deployment is also an advantage.

  • Proficiency in Python and SQL or similar tools
  • Experience analyzing financial, customer or behavioral data
  • Ability to connect analytical results to business decisions
  • Good communication and collaboration skills
  • Understanding of model testing, documentation, and monitoring
