About the role

About the Role We are currently seeking an experienced Site Manager to join a Tier 1 Contractor delivering a major hyperscale data centre project in Vienna, Austria. This is an excellent opportunity to work on behalf of one of the world's largest hyperscale technology companies, supporting the successful commissioning and delivery of a mission-critical facility. This contract offers an initial 6-month term with a strong possibility of extension based on project requirements and performance. Key Responsibilities Oversee and manage on-site commissioning activities throughout the project lifecycle. Coordinate contractors, subcontractors, consultants, and client stakeholders to ensure project milestones are achieved. Drive commissioning activities from Level 1 through Level 5 (L1-L5), ensuring all systems are tested, verified, and handed over successfully. Monitor project progress, quality, health & safety, and programme compliance. Lead site meetings and provide regular progress updates to project leadership. Manage commissioning documentation, reporting, and handover processes. Ensure all works are completed in accordance with client specifications and industry standards. Essential Requirements Proven experience as a Site Manager on large-scale construction or mission-critical projects. Strong commissioning background with demonstrable experience across L1-L5 commissioning stages. Eligible to work as a freelancer/contractor within the European Union. Excellent stakeholder management and coordination skills. Strong understanding of health, safety, and quality standards within construction environments. Fluent English communication skills. Preferred Experience Previous data centre project experience. Experience working on hyperscale or mission-critical facilities.
