Instructor

The City of Helsinki is seeking a skilled and enthusiastic instructor for the Leppälä multidisciplinary team at the Naulakallio Children's Home's special level ward. Naulakallio is a 31-place substitute care facility providing demanding and special level institutional care for children aged 13-17 who have been taken into care. The work focuses on promoting the child's psychological, social, and physical health and age-appropriate development. The instructor's role is to ensure the overall well-being of the placed child and promote the care process. This includes close work as a personal instructor, documentation of care, and consistent cooperation with the child's family and other service networks. The goal is to provide the child with the skills needed to return home or transition to independent living in a safe and understanding environment. Sensitivity and flexible interaction skills are essential for working with children, their inner circles, the work community, and partners. The work is challenging, diverse, and occasionally fast-paced, requiring stress tolerance, flexibility, and a willingness to develop professionally. The position is shift-based, with hours spanning mornings, evenings, and nights on weekdays and weekends. Support is provided by a close-knit team consisting of six instructors, two nurses, a psychologist, and a lead instructor. The employer offers extensive training and development opportunities.
