Postdoctoral Researcher

Two fixed-term postdoctoral researcher positions are available within the Good News from Academia project. The research focuses on the study of academic labor, addressing its conditions such as short-term contracts, workload pressures and competition. The role includes designing research setups, data collection, data analysis, and writing for publications in collaboration with the research group. The work is located within the Department of Management and Business, HEG, Tampere University, with potential teaching duties up to 10% of annual hours. Responsibilities include contributing to research communications and other project tasks. The candidate is expected to have a PhD in a relevant field (social sciences, political science, administration studies, anthropology, cultural studies, education or related areas) and demonstrate independent work and active collaboration in a research group. Proficiency in Finnish and English is required. The position begins 1 November 2026 (or as agreed) and ends by 31 August 2028 (first position), or 31 August 2027 (second position); salary is within the University’s pay scale levels 5–6 with a personal performance-based component.
