Technical Writer

Patria is an international defense and technology company with over 100 years of experience. We are looking for a Technical Writer for the ILS department in Hämeenlinna for a permanent position. The ILS department (Integrated Lifecycle Support) is an element closely linked to product development and customer deliveries, enabling lifecycle support for the acquired system. ILS is responsible for considering maintainability, reliability, operational safety, and usability in products and designs the technical documentation, maintenance concept, and spare parts packages delivered to users. As a Technical Writer, you are responsible for the design, creation, and maintenance of maintenance, repair, and user documentation for Patria's vehicle products. You will delve deeply into vehicle structures, systems, and technical solutions and turn technical information into clear and practical instructions for users and maintenance personnel. You will work in close cooperation with product development, design, testing, and maintenance experts to ensure the technical correctness, usability, and quality of the documentation. Documentation is produced in English and used in internationally demanding operating environments. You will work with well-known vehicle products such as Patria AMV XP, Patria 6x6, and Patria TRACKX. Requirements: - Higher education degree suitable for the field, e.g., Engineer/Master of Science in Technology - Fluent Finnish and English language skills, other language skills are an advantage - Proactive, self-directed nature suitable for long-term work - Cooperation and teamwork skills - Technical orientation and especially interest in vehicle technology Advantageous experience: - Use of Teamcenter as a PDM system - Technical documentation and content production in English - Producing images for documentation with vector graphics software, e.g., CorelDraw - Producing structured documentation with CMS software - Experience with XML editors, e.g., Arbortext Editor - Application of the S1000D specification in documentation production What we offer: - Opportunity for a long and diverse career with unique products - Annual performance bonus model, lunch and culture benefits, and support for work-related studies - Comprehensive occupational health services including specialist services - Leisure accident insurance - Flexible working hours (sliding scale) Application deadline: August 9, 2026.
