We are now looking for an occupational therapist for a new child welfare residential care service in Naantali! The new unit is a child welfare residential care service with one demanding-level residential unit and one special-level residential unit. We are currently building new premises designed specifically for this purpose. The service is planned especially for children with individual support needs related to intellectual disabilities, developmental delays or neurodivergent traits. One unit has space for six children and the other for seven. The grounds also include a school maintained by Naantali's education services, providing special education to the children in the residential units. The selected occupational therapist's working time will be divided between the two units. The work community is multidisciplinary and includes social services professionals, nurses and practical nurses. Our units operate according to a regular structure and a consistent, predictable everyday routine. Our care, rehabilitation and educational work is based on the PACE approach, attachment relationships, recognising the good in each child, meeting each child as an individual and methods that support children's special needs. To support your work, professional development and well-being, we offer: A work community where individual acceptance and mutual trust are the foundation of everything. A boldly developing organisation where you can influence your own work and tools. Evidence-based working methods and work-oriented further training through tailored learning paths at Sospro Academy, delivered in cooperation with TAMK. The salary corresponds to grade G24D in the private social services collective agreement (€2,811.09–€3,071.09). In addition to shift supplements, you may receive personal and task-specific pay supplements, for example for applying further training in your work (€54.65–€163.95 per month). A well-being benefit of €400 per year, as well as varied efforts to recognise employees and organise shared events. We also have an incentive reward system that provides an additional reward for successes, to be used for the work group's well-being and recreation. As the occupational therapist, your responsibilities include: Developing practical structures that support the children's everyday lives together with the work group. Assessing rehabilitation needs related to children's independent activities. Strengthening the implementation of designated-instructor work by supporting children individually. Bringing rehabilitation methods that diversify children's everyday lives and strengthen their ability to manage independently. Assessing and developing the residential unit's everyday routines, methods and premises to enable planned rehabilitation work. Guiding other employees and sharing your expertise. The selected candidate must have a university of applied sciences degree in occupational therapy. The work is in two shifts and includes weekdays and weekends. A driving licence and a social and healthcare professional ID card are also required. The employment is permanent. Work begins in early January 2027. The employment contract follows the private social services collective agreement and includes a six-month probationary period. The selected candidate must provide the criminal record extract required under the law on checking the criminal background of people working with children (505/2002).
