Telecommunications Specialist

We are now looking for an enthusiastic and skilled Telecommunications Specialist to strengthen our Telecommunications Unit. What will you do? In this varied role, you will work on different telecommunications projects, designing, implementing and maintaining our customers’ critical network infrastructures. Your daily tasks include designing and documenting network architectures; configuring and managing network equipment such as routers, switches and firewalls; analysing and optimising network performance; troubleshooting network problems and finding solutions; participating in the evaluation and introduction of new technologies; and collaborating with other experts and customers. What do we expect from you? You are an independent and proactive problem-solver with good teamwork skills. You have a strong interest in data networks and a desire to develop as a professional in the field. We hope you have relevant IT education, such as an engineering or technician qualification, experience with data centre networks, core-network routing protocols (e.g. BGP, OSPF), switching technologies and firewalls, and an understanding of network security. Good communication skills in Finnish and English are also important. The position is based in the Jyväskylä area. The role requires travelling during the working day, so you must have at least a category B driving licence and access to your own car. We consider the following an advantage: Experience with cloud-based networking solutions (e.g. Azure, AWS), familiarity with SDN technologies, certifications (e.g. Cisco CCNA/CCNP, Juniper JNCIA/JNCIS, Fortinet FCA Cybersecurity, FCP Network Security), and experience with network monitoring tools.
