We are seeking a Mechanical Design Team Leader to lead a roughly 10-person mechanical design team in Tampere. The main focus of this role is leading the team and the work, not performing actual mechanical design work yourself, but you should have a strong background in mechanical design to understand the team’s work, to coach designers, and to guide projects in the right direction. Our team works on both customer-project mechanical design and development of JTA’s own products and solutions. Your responsibilities include leading the team, coordinating resources, prioritising and advancing several projects, developing design practices, processes and quality, ensuring machine safety, regulatory compliance, and alignment with machinery standards in the design, supporting project delivery from a mechanical design perspective, and actively contributing to the development of JTA’s own products and solutions. You will work closely with project management, automation design, procurement, production and other stakeholders. Requirements include a strong background in mechanical or machine design and prior leadership or team-leading experience. SolidWorks experience is preferred, though you will not be performing detailed design work in this role. Experience with project business and product development, and understanding of machines, equipment, production lines, material handling or industrial automation is valued. Above all, we are looking for someone who wants to lead people and develop how things are done. The workplace is in Tampere. JTA Connection has designed and built solutions for industrial needs for nearly 25 years. How to apply: submit your application by 11.9. If you want more information, contact Sanna Pelli at sanna@sannapelli.fi during the hours 2.9. 14–15 and 9.9. 14–15 at 040-6744 640. In your application, briefly describe your mechanical design background, leadership experience, and why this role could be a good next step for you.
