This job posting describes a freelance/contract Project Engineer role based in Finland on a 2-year project. Responsibilities
- Support the successful delivery of engineering and construction activities throughout the project lifecycle.
- Coordinate project stakeholders including contractors, subcontractors, consultants, and client representatives.
- Monitor project progress, ensuring activities are delivered safely, on schedule, and within budget.
- Assist with project planning, reporting, documentation, and change management activities.
- Review technical documentation, drawings, specifications, and engineering deliverables.
- Monitor quality, HSE, and compliance requirements across project activities.
- Participate in project meetings and provide technical and commercial support to the wider project team.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Project Engineer within construction, infrastructure, industrial, energy, or engineering projects.
- Strong understanding of project delivery, contractor management, and site operations.
- Experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams and managing project interfaces.
- Knowledge of project controls, scheduling, reporting, and risk management.
- Ability to review technical documentation and support engineering and construction activities.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Engineering degree or equivalent technical qualification.
- MUST have EU passport/Right to work in Finland.
- Fluent English is required; Finnish language skills would be advantageous.
