About the role

Welcoming you to an unpretentious construction and built environment planning and consulting firm! At A-Insinöörit we foster a culture where our specialists and clients can succeed together. We offer the benefits of a large company with the nimbleness of a small firm in a rewarding, award-winning workplace. We are currently seeking an experienced ecologist to strengthen our nature team with growing expertise, to solve challenges in interesting projects within a growing and development-focused workplace. You will work as a field ecologist/bird life specialist in ecological surveys and other environmental impact assessments, with duties including project planning, field surveys, reporting and impact assessment. You will be supported by our growing team as well as our multidisciplinary in-house experts and a broad subcontractor network to address client needs across project types. We expect you to have relevant experience, with particular emphasis on bird surveys and bird-impact assessments; expertise in other taxa and impact assessments is welcomed. The final job description will be defined together with your skills and interests. Your workplace will be located in Espoo, Tampere, Lahti or Oulu; work from other A-Insinöörit offices can be negotiated. A significant part of the role involves field visits, so travel readiness and a driving license are valued. To succeed you need curiosity, accuracy, and a willingness to demonstrate your expertise and grow. We value boldness in showcasing your skills, strong communication skills, independence, teamwork, and project-based work. You must have a suitable degree, such as FM ecology/biology. Proficiency in Finnish (spoken and written) is required; other language skills (especially English and Swedish as working languages) are welcomed as the client base grows. We strive to keep our workplace inspiring, with opportunities for professional growth and meaningful tasks, and we offer competitive employee benefits described at www.ains.fi/yritys/meista/tapa-toimia, which has been recognized as one of the most attractive engineering workplaces in Finland (Universum 2025). If this sounds interesting, please apply with your CV and a free-form cover letter by 15 Sept 2026 at www.ains.fi/ura. We recommend applying as soon as possible, as we are processing inquiries during the application period. For security reasons we do not accept applications by email.
