Lead Designer

We are seeking a lead mechanical designer to strengthen our capabilities in Tampere. The role combines practical design work, technical ownership, and close cooperation with customers and project teams. Your duties may include technical leadership of design projects together with the project manager, guiding other designers, evaluating design solutions, and ensuring design quality in mechanical projects for mobile machinery and defense industry. You will manage technical entities, coordinate solutions, and maintain design quality, while interacting with customers and various stakeholders. You may work at our Tampere office or at customer sites; hybrid work is possible when projects allow. Requirements include a suitable technical education (Engineering AMK or Diploma in Engineering), several years of experience in similar design tasks or as a technical advisor, expertise in mobile machinery design or other demanding machine structures, experience in technical leadership of design projects or a desire to advance to lead designer responsibilities, strong 3D CAD skills (SolidWorks or NX), and the ability to conceptualize technical entities, justify design choices, and drive progress in an organized manner. Good collaboration and communication skills in Finnish and English are beneficial. Nice to have: experience in defense industry projects or regulatory compliance in design, experience guiding and reviewing other designers, and understanding of manufacturability, assembly feasibility, and practical machine design. The salary typically ranges between €4,000 and €4,800 per month, final salary depending on expertise and experience.
