About the role

ABOUT WEROAD: CONNECTING PEOPLE, CULTURES, AND STORIES Founded in 2017, WeRoad is a fast-growing startup that is disrupting the travel industry in Italy, Spain, UK, Germany, France, Switzerland and… the USA! With 200 team members and 4K Travel Coordinators, we're a community of travelers who turn every trip into a life-changing experience. We connect like-minded millennials and send them on adventures to 1000+ destinations worldwide. We're on a mission to design and deliver experiences worth living and sharing, through rewriting the rules of the travel industry. ABOUT THE ROLE JOB TITLE: Founder Associate Intern LOCATION: Hybrid (Milan) TYPE OF CONTRACT: Internship (curricular/extracurricular) or fixed-term contract SALARY RANGE: up to 1000 euros/month reimbursement in case of internship or up to €30,000 gross/year for fixed-term If you're early in your career and want to grow fast into strategy, operations, or business leadership, this role is built for you. Our first-ever Founder Associate will sit shoulder-to-shoulder with WeRoad's leadership on the stuff that actually moves the company: cross-functional initiatives, strategic analysis, operational priorities, and whatever it takes to keep a scaleup charging across 7 countries and landing in the US. The role is deliberately generalist: one week you're building the business case for a new market, the next you're digging into competitive intelligence or shaping a board update. No two weeks look the same. What never changes: a front-row seat to how the company gets built, ownership from day one, and no patience for waiting to be told what to do. We're looking for someone ambitious, fast, and hungry, who wants to earn responsibility by shipping, not by waiting their turn. What you'll do: - Support the founder and senior leadership on high-priority strategic and operational projects, from framing the problem to delivering the output - Conduct research and analysis — market landscapes, competitor benchmarking, performance deep-dives — and turn raw data into clear, decision-ready insights - Help prepare materials for internal and external audiences: team updates, investor-ready decks, board summaries, and cross-functional briefings - Track key business metrics and contribute to regular reporting cycles, flagging anomalies and surfacing patterns that matter - Coordinate across teams to move cross-functional projects forward, managing timelines, follow-ups, and stakeholder alignment - AI, AI, AI: Explore and prototype AI tools, frameworks, and processes that help WeRoad operate smarter as it scales. If a tool exists that makes the output better, you're expected to find and use it. What we're looking for: - A recent graduate or final-year student in Economics, Management, Engineering, or a related quantitative/business discipline - Strong analytical skills and comfort with numbers: you can build a solid spreadsheet, read a P&L, and know the difference between data and insight - Clear, confident communicator — written and verbal — who can synthesise complexity into something a busy exec can act on in two minutes - Entrepreneurial mindset: you take initiative, spot problems before they're flagged, and prefer to ask forgiveness rather than permission - Resilient generalist who's genuinely excited by context-switching and ambiguity, not unsettled by it - Resilient and relentless: you don't fold under pressure, you don't wait to be told twice, and you find a way when the path isn't obvious - Fluent in English; Italian, German, Spanish or French is a plus given the markets we operate in What we can offer: - Trust-based holidays – We believe performance is driven by impact, not by hours at a desk. You are encouraged to take the time you need to recharge, beyond contractual minimums, within shared guidelines. - Opportunities to learn – We invest in your growth with training and learning opportunities. - Extra benefits – Meal vouchers (€8/day). - Fun – A vibrant co-working space, team buildings and meet-ups. - Hybrid working The selection process will consist of: - First interview with Talent Acquisition Lead - Technical and background-based interview with Hiring Manager - Second technical interview - Culture champions step
