Electrician – Hands-on Project Lead

Read on to find out more! We are looking for an electrical/mechanical installer with team-lead skills for industrial automation, in a permanent position with our client in Tampere. What is the job? We are looking for an electrical/mechanical installer who ideally already has several years of experience in the field. The work is closely connected to industrial automation. In addition to electrical work, it includes a great deal of mechanics and mechanical installation, so some mechanical background is essential. You must also be willing and able to travel for work, as our client carries out projects in several countries as well as Finland. As the team lead, you will work on projects with the crew and be responsible on worksites for, among other things: * Actively working between the customer and our project organisation * Guiding installers’ daily work and ensuring the project progresses * Investigating problems and finding solutions * Carrying out installation work together with the rest of the installation team * Ensuring safety, quality and schedules The role offers varied sites and projects, including the opportunity to work abroad on project assignments. Previous experience of travel work is essential. This is because there are estimated to be at least 150 travel days per year, probably more than 200. You will be responsible, for example, for mechanical installation, assembly, commissioning and maintenance of automation cells and other automated production systems according to customer requirements. You will work as part of a large team including electrical and automation installers and design engineers. Although the team is large, the work is often independent, so you need initiative and problem-solving skills. If the right person is found, the aim is to transfer the employment to the client after six months of work. What do we expect from you? You will do well in this role if you have: * Practical experience in supervisory work and leadership, preferably in a related field or similar work * Availability for travel, mainly abroad, including the USA, Europe and Asia * Suitable training, such as electrical training and/or a vocational qualification in mechanical and production engineering * Experience in mechanical installation or maintenance work * Ability to read drawings and carry out work as independently as possible. Drawing-reading skills are not required at the outset, but are critical to the work, so you must be willing to learn * Good physical fitness and a safety-minded approach * A category B driving licence * Excellent Finnish and enough English to manage when needed on worksites.
