Social care worker

The Pirkanmaa welfare region’s housing and participation responsibilities unit produces a wide range of low-threshold social services for Pirkanmaa. You would join to develop high-quality services for our customers. As an outreach social care worker, you play a significant role in preventing exclusion by going out into the streets and public spaces to meet people in their natural environments. Clients are also met in personal meetings, and we participate in cooperation networks and, if necessary, accompany clients to various services. The work is demanding, process-driven, client-oriented, confidential and individualized. It is performed in multidisciplinary collaboration with clients’ networks and service systems. Important partners include social and health care professionals, city actors, and third sector actors. A qualification is a legally recognized social services worker in Finland (Act on Social Welfare Professionals 817/2015 §8). We require good collaboration and interaction skills as well as experience in social work. Bonus points for experience in outreach work, broad knowledge of service systems, and mobility (driving license B). You are the right person if you can work independently, in a team, and in multidisciplinary cooperation with the third sector. Flexible approach and ability to adapt to rapidly changing and sometimes unpredictable work situations. Good communication and information-seeking skills. Willingness to develop new forms of work and act according to objectives. Good spoken and written Finnish. Details: The position starts on a fixed term: 1.9.2026–1.3.2027, with possible extension to an open-ended contract. Trial period is half of the employment period. Working hours are shift work on average 38h 15min, two-shift system. We may interview applicants during the application period.
