Chief Physician

We are filling the permanent position of chief physician at Paloheinä Health Station. At Paloheinä Health Station, daily work runs smoothly and people enjoy it. At the health station, work is done close to one another—doctors, nurses and other professionals take care together that the patient receives good care. The station serves about 15,000 residents. As chief physician you lead the station’s daily life and act as the medical doctors’ supervisor. An experienced head nurse works alongside you, leading nursing at the station. In the role you will both lead and perform clinical work, staying closely involved in patient care and staff’s daily life. We are looking for a chief physician who enjoys working with people, wants to support staff and is willing to perform patient care themselves. In a small station the chief physician is close to everyday life and quickly sees what works and what should be developed. In this role you can concretely influence the smoothness of work, quality of services and the atmosphere in the work community. Mentoring younger colleagues into general medicine is an essential part of the chief physician’s work. We offer you meaningful work at the health station where you know people, can influence everyday life and combine leadership with patient care. Paloheinä suits you well if you like a small unit and seeing results close at hand. The appointment requires a license to practise as a specialist in an applicable specialty. The best prerequisites for the position come from the specialist qualification in General Medicine. Previous management experience and the right to train specialists in general medicine are considered advantageous. Interviews are held in October–November.
