
Payments Department Business Analyst

You analyze and map payment service business processes and identify opportunities to develop and improve them. You gather, analyze and document business requirements for payment systems and schemes including SEPA, SEPA Instant, Target2, SWIFT. You collaborate closely with IT, product, risk management, AML, compliance and other related units to successfully implement payment service developments. You participate in shaping the payment services product development roadmap and help evaluate impact of new solutions on customers, processes and systems. You plan, coordinate and support user acceptance testing (UAT), ensuring solutions align with business objectives and agreed requirements. You draft system-ready business requirements, process descriptions, user stories and customer journeys to support development teams. You monitor payment service KPIs and SLAs and propose improvements. You explore payment market developments, regulatory changes and best practices and bring them into the organization’s daily work. You are a true expert in the team, with deep understanding of European payment schemes and standards (SEPA, SEPA Instant, Target2, SWIFT) and can translate business and technical needs into clear, actionable requirements. You can see the big picture while not overlooking important details, edge cases and risks. You are a strong partner to various stakeholders and can lead the requirements gathering and alignment process. You know back-office payment processes, including settlement, reconciliation and payment routing logic. You use data to support decisions and can see links between customer behavior and operational processes. You have a proactive mindset and constantly seek ways to improve services and processes. Responsibilities
- Analyze and map payment service business processes and identify opportunities for development and improvement.

Requirements
- At least 2 years of experience in business analysis, product development or project management in the financial or fintech sector.
- Practical experience with payment systems and knowledge of payment service logic.
- Experience participating in UAT processes and ensuring solutions meet business objectives and acceptance criteria.
- Experience describing requirements, modeling processes and creating documentation.
- Able to use analysis and collaboration tools such as Jira, Confluence, Tableau, SQL and data warehouses (DWH) to support requirements analysis, documentation and data-driven decision making.
- Very good communication and collaboration skills and ability to work with teams from different countries.
- Strong knowledge of European payment regulations, schemes and standards.
- Proficiency in English both spoken and written.
- A higher education in economics, finance, IT or related field is a plus.
- International projects or multi-market collaboration experience is a plus.
