Hello education professional! Koulutuskeskus Salpaus is seeking an Education Development Manager for a permanent position starting November 1, 2026, or as agreed. In this role, you will strengthen the development of teaching activities and support the implementation of national vocational education goals and the objectives of the operational guidance pilot at Salpaus. In this position, you will ensure that teaching development initiatives progress in accordance with strategic goals. Your work will focus particularly on entities that strengthen the impact of education, the progress of studies, the smoothness of training implementations, and the quality and effectiveness of teaching activities. You will work in close cooperation with Salpaus management. You will collaborate with actors guiding the implementation of Salpaus's strategy, educational fields, services, and teaching and guidance staff. Additionally, you will work with the working world and other stakeholders. We are looking for a person with strong experience and insight into vocational education, expertise in developing teaching activities, and the ability to put broad initiatives into practice. Success in the role requires management of overall entities, independent judgment, good implementation skills, clear communication, and the ability to build a shared situational picture and ensure agreed matters progress together with others. As the Education Development Manager, you organize, coordinate, and advance teaching development initiatives. You ensure that agreed measures progress, schedules are maintained, necessary coordination takes place, and development work is visible in daily operations. The role emphasizes goal-oriented and practical development work. Drafting plans alone is not enough; it is essential to ensure that decided measures progress, impacts are monitored, and necessary actions are taken in a timely manner. You will also engage in practical work yourself. You will be supported by the expert team you manage. In this position, you will among other things: - be responsible for promoting the implementation of national vocational education goals at Salpaus - support Salpaus in the practical implementation of the national operational guidance pilot goals - coordinate and advance teaching development initiatives assigned to you by management - ensure the progress, scheduling, monitoring, and coordination of agreed measures - compile a situational picture to support management's decision-making and strategy implementation - produce preparation, monitoring, and reporting materials - promote development measures that support student progress and the smooth implementation of training - participate, if necessary, in other teaching development and strategy implementation tasks set by management - ensure that development work is concrete, scheduled, and implementable in daily routines. The salary for the Education Development Manager position is €5,522.58/month plus a work experience supplement according to KVTES. Terms of employment The working hours for the Education Development Manager are 36 hours and 15 minutes per week. The probationary period is six (6) months. The selection is conditional until the selected person has submitted a health check report and a criminal record extract as provided in Act 504/2002 on the verification of the criminal background of persons working with children. What we hope for from you You will succeed in this role if you have: - a suitable university degree and pedagogical qualification for teachers - up-to-date experience in developing teaching activities, education organization, or educational institution operations - good knowledge of vocational education and pedagogy - knowledge of vocational education legislation and regulations, as well as insight into national goals and their practical implementation - the ability to lead and implement broad development initiatives - the ability to prepare, prioritize, schedule, coordinate, and monitor several simultaneous entities - good skills in supporting management and producing a clear situational picture for decision-making - strong implementation and cooperation skills - a solution-oriented, responsible, and independent approach to work - excellent interaction, negotiation, networking, and influencing skills - experience in line management of experts We value experience in organization-level development work, implementing changes, and translating strategic goals into practical action. Experience in preparing decision-making, utilizing data-driven management, assessing impacts, and building and establishing common operating models is considered an advantage. Good knowledge of the vocational education operating environment, experience in implementing national reforms or guidance models, and the ability to act constructively at the interfaces of management, educational fields, services, and external stakeholders are also beneficial in this role.
