Hello, doctor—come and join Solo’s friendly team! 💜 We are looking for doctors for weekend and public-holiday on-call shifts in the hospital services of Espoo Hospital and the Western Uusimaa wellbeing services county (LUVN), starting 1 January 2027. The work suits doctors interested in geriatric and acute care, as well as doctors who provide remote on-call services. Shifts are available in four areas, and you can apply for one or more. Work units and duties Area 1: Espoo Hospital acute care ward (on-site) Care for acute patient matters in a 45-bed acute care ward. Shifts are generally on the final two weekends of each month (Saturday–Sunday) and on public holidays, approximately 70 days per year. The rotation starts at 8:00. The work is always on-site. Area 2: Espoo Hospital rehabilitation and palliative care wards, and the home hospital (on-site) On-call medical services for the rehabilitation and palliative care wards (225 beds in total) and the home hospital. There are approximately 110 shift days per year, usually at weekends. The rotation starts at 8:00. The work is always on-site. Area 3: LUVN Hospital Services telephone on-call service (remote) Remote telephone on-call work, answering consultation calls from nurses at Western Uusimaa hospital services units. Shifts cover every weekend and public holiday from 8:00 to 22:00, with a target response time of under three minutes. The work is done remotely, but the doctor on call must always be physically in Finland and may not work in another healthcare unit during the shift. Duties common to all wards: managing acute patient matters, examining new patients and preparing treatment plans, discharges and medication reviews, documentation, and confirming deaths and taking the related actions. What we expect from you - Qualification as a general practitioner or specialist - At least 12 months’ experience of independent ward work in Finland after obtaining your medical licence - Sufficient ability to use the Lifecare patient information system independently, and readiness to use the Navitas reference information service, My+ Care laboratory system and the Kanta patient data archive - Experience caring for geriatric and palliative care patients, a palliative care special competence, and readiness to manage acute situations independently are considered advantages - Vaccination protection in accordance with section 48 of the Communicable Diseases Act - Good Finnish skills Why is this a great opportunity? 💜 ePassi benefit of €400 per year – Can be used for sports, culture and wellbeing services (for employment relationships lasting at least 60 shifts) 💜 Occupational health – Occupational health services to support your wellbeing 💜 Strong support and community – You will not be left on your own!
