About the role

The unit is responsible for the guidance and counseling of social welfare services for all working-age people, people with disabilities, and families with children for clients, authorities, and partners. The unit is multidisciplinary and consists of professionals from adult social services, disability services, children and youth social services, and child welfare. The unit's goal is to create smooth access for our clients, provide a high-quality initial assessment, and, if necessary, guide the client further to either our own or our partners' services. We want to promote multidisciplinarity and create a unit where we can address our clients' many questions and challenges at once. Our goal is to create a simple and clear entity for clients. The unit handles all LUVN social welfare contacts for those under 65 via phone calls, chats, child welfare notifications, and contacts and notifications according to the Social Welfare Act. The unit serves as the starting point of customer paths, and its operation affects our entire service production. The staff of the social welfare guidance and counseling unit consists of social guidance counselors, a leading social guidance counselor, two leading social workers, and a service unit manager. Approximately 50 professionals work in the unit. We have extensive expertise and experience in guidance, counseling, and initial assessment work, but together we are all facing something new and are learning and creating a new operating culture together! In the role of social guidance counselor, you will handle various contacts and notifications from clients and professionals. Client contacts primarily take place by phone and through digital services. You will make independent decisions to advance client situations and have the support of a multidisciplinary team. After the orientation phase, there is an opportunity for partial remote work. Workplace name and address: Social Services Information: the workstation is located in Espoo (Lintuvaarantie 2 b). Working hours: general working hours 38h 15min/week The position is permanent Interviews for the positions will be held as group interview sessions at the following times: - Monday 31.8 at 15:00-16:30, Friday 4.9 at 14:00-15:30 Eligibility requirement: Qualification according to Section 8 of the Act on Social Care Professionals (817/2015). We are specifically looking for a Swedish-speaking adult social work expert who can also participate in 'Walk-in' activities, i.e., the substitute ring for in-person customer service in Espoo. In your daily work, you will deal with various clients and partners in the most diverse situations. Tolerating unpredictability and uncertainty is part of your job, as you often cannot know what is expected of you in the next contact. The position requires a fast reaction capacity so that matters move forward efficiently in the first line. On the other hand, we require judgment so that clients are guided as well as possible to the correct address at the first contact. Successful performance of the task requires good documentation skills and fluent Finnish language skills. The work also requires the ability to make independent decisions, manage and plan one's own work, as well as good interaction and teamwork skills, good IT skills, flexibility, and the ability to adapt to changing situations in a fast-paced work environment. Those selected for the position/employment will be randomly asked for a drug test certificate in accordance with the Länsi-Uudenmaa wellbeing services county substance abuse program.
