Head of Product, Supply Chain

We are now seeking an experienced leader for our client SOK’s Market Trade business for the Head of Product, Supply Chain role. In this new role, you will act as a change leader in implementing a new supply chain operating model that combines business and technology. What is the role about? As Head of Product, you will lead supply chain development as a whole and ensure that strategy and vision translate into concrete results: better availability experienced by customers, more efficient operations and stronger competitiveness. The supply chain function is responsible for developing, improving performance and ensuring the operational reliability of S Group’s retail supply chain. In our new operating model, we bring business, technology and analytics experts into the same functional organisation and develop our work to be more customer-oriented and agile by applying a product leadership model. As Head of Product, you will hold the leading product leadership role in the supply chain functional organisation and play a key part in building a world-class omnichannel supply chain that supports the competitiveness of grocery and specialty retail now and in the future. In the functional organisation, you will form a close working partnership with the Head of Technology. You will be the direct manager of 15 business development experts and, together with the Head of Technology, lead a multidisciplinary organisation of around 100 people focused on developing and ensuring continuity in end-to-end supply chain control, replenishment, logistics and master data. You will work closely with grocery and specialty retail, our logistics company Inex, and other key business and technology stakeholders. Your workplaces are SOK’s head office in Vallila, Helsinki, and Inex’s logistics centres in Sipoo. We work in a hybrid model. Your responsibilities: Implement the new product leadership model across supply chain areas together with the Head of Technology. Create a new work culture centred on customer- and business-oriented, agile, data-driven and impact-based development. Lead the design and implementation of the supply chain’s strategic vision and customer- and business-value-based roadmap across the functional organisation’s product areas and multidisciplinary teams. Resolve both immediate challenges related to business continuity and strategic questions affecting the supply chain’s long-term competitiveness. Together with the Head of Technology, be responsible for the overall development and maintenance budget for the supply chain and for allocating investments. Identify technological opportunities for business development. Create the conditions for improving customer-perceived availability, supply chain cost efficiency, and the efficiency of operational work and decision-making through automation, data and artificial intelligence. What kind of professional are we looking for? At least 10 years of experience in business development, product leadership or leading development portfolios, as well as several years of experience in leadership roles. Knowledge of supply chains, master data and retail business is an advantage. A track record of successfully leading large organisations and multidisciplinary teams, engaging stakeholders and renewing operating models. A strong understanding of the connection between business and technology, and the ability to recognise the opportunities data, automation and artificial intelligence offer for creating business value. Experience in putting strategies, visions and development roadmaps into practice and verifying results and benefits. A coaching leadership style, strong communication and influencing skills, and the ability to lead across organisational boundaries. A relevant master’s degree (MSc in Engineering, MSc in Economics and Business Administration or equivalent) and fluent Finnish and English. Why choose us?
